‘Bad boy’ of Kiwi cricket Ryder reveals his untamed past

Wellington, Jan.31 : New Zealand Cricket’s “bad boy” Jesse Ryder has revealed that his wild childhood has been responsible for his sometimes self-destructive behaviour. In an exclusive interview, the 25-year-old Black Cap says he was raised with little control after his parents split early in his life and his father walked out on him when he was just 14-years-old. “I haven’t ever really had boundaries or rules set in place for me, even when I was a young fella,” Ryder told Sunday News, at his home in Lower Hutt.

Decision on BT Brinjal in 10 days: Jairam Ramesh

Hyderabad, Jan 31 – Union Environment and Forests Minister Jairam Ramesh, who faced angry protests from farmers here Sunday over a move to produce the genetically modified (GM) Bt Brinjal, said a final decision on the issue would be taken in 10 days after consultations with all concerned. Demanding that the government reverse its decision, farmers, scientists and NGOs staged angry demonstrations and disrupted a public hearing organised by the ministry. Holding placards and raising slogans, the protestors did not allow the minister to speak at the public consultation held at the Central Research Institute for Dryland Agriculture (CRIDA).

Bangalore, Jan 31 – The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Sunday hit out at the government for soaring food prices and asked it to immediately take off essential goods from the commodities exchange. Over million Hindus throng Malaysia’s Batu Caves for Thaipusam Festival

Indo-Europeans may have reached eastern Asia 2,000 years ago

Washington, January 31 : A team of archaeologists has unearthed the skeleton of a western man in an ancient Mongolian tomb, which has yielded genetic evidence of Indo-Europeans reaching eastern Asia at least 2,000 years ago. According to a report in Science News, the skeleton lay in one of more than 200 tombs recently excavated at a 2,000-year-old cemetery in western Mongolia, near China’s northern border. DNA extracted from this man’s bones pegs him as a descendant of Europeans or western Asians.
