London, Feb 28 – Irish actor Colin Farrell says he doesn’t regret his wild child days and has many great memories. The actor claims to have not touched drugs for three years and alcohol for nearly two and insists his life is not a ‘sad story’. ‘The ins and outs of what I’ve been through, even when it comes to rehab, is not a sad story,’ said Farrell.

When Zac Efron’s swimming pool left his house flooded

London, Feb 28 – Hollywood heartthrob Zac Efron woke up to a flooded house after his swimming pool overflowed due to torrential rain. The ‘High School Musical’ star, who recently spent one million dollars on a ‘modest’ Hollywood apartment, reportedly spent the entire day mopping up water damage. ‘Zac called his pool guy, who arrived with a pump and started directing water away from the property,’ said a source.

Hockey World Cup: India outplay Pakistan 2-0 at half time

New Delhi, Feb 28 – India outplayed Pakistan in the first half of their Hockey World Cup opener and took a 2-0 lead at the Dhyan Chand National Stadium here Sunday night. India scored both their goals from penalty corners. Shivendra Singh pounced onto a rebound following Pakistan goal-keeper Salman Akbar’s block of Sandeep Singh’s drag flick for the first goal.

Gurgaon residents pay Rs.31 lakh fine to power discom

Gurgaon, Feb 28 – The residents of DLF phase-4 in this satellite town of the national capital Sunday paid a fine of Rs.31 lakh to a Haryana power distribution company as the power supply of three multi-storey apartment buildings was cut Saturday for unauthorised use of electricity. About 5,000 residents of Regency Park, Hamilton Tower and Windsor Tower had to live with the power backup systems as the Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN) disconnected their power supply Saturday evening. The power could only be restored Sunday afternoon after the residents paid the fine.

India supports Arab peace plan

Riyadh, Feb 28 – India Sunday expressed ‘strong support’ to a Saudi-proposed initiative aimed at ending the Arab-Israeli conflict. The Indian decision was made known on the second day of Manmohan Singh’s visit to Saudi Arabia, the second by an Indian prime minister after 1982. ‘We exchanged views on developments in the Middle East and on the status of the peace process in the Middle East,’ Latha Reddy, Secretary (East) in the Ministry of External Affairs, said here Sunday.

IIT student confesses to murder of woman in Shimla

Shimla, Feb 28 – A student of the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee, arrested in Haryana early Sunday for allegedly murdering a female IIT-Delhi student in a Shimla hotel, has confessed his crime, police claimed here. A 22-year-old third-year girl student of textile engineering of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT)-Delhi, who came here with the IIT-Roorkee male student, was found murdered in the hotel room Saturday. Since then, the alleged accused was missing.

Amid tension, Dera congregation is peaceful

Chandigarh/Sirsa, Feb 28 – Even as an uneasy calm prevailed in Punjab and Haryana, the monthly congregation of the controversial Dera Sacha Sauda sect chief Gurmit Ram Rahim Singh was held peacefully at the sect’s headquarters in Haryana’s Sirsa town Sunday. Supporters of the sect had gone on a rampage in parts of Punjab and Haryana Saturday evening to protest against the registration of another murder case against their spiritual leader Gurmit. Addressing the congregation, Gurmit said: ‘Dera has nothing to do with recent incidents of arson or damage to property.
