New Delhi, March 31 – Air Marshal Ajay Shriniwas Karnik will Thursday take over as director general of inspection and safety wing of the Indian Air Force (IAF), an official said Wednesday. Karnik, an alumnus of the National Defence Academy (NDA) in Khadakvasla, is at present senior air staff officer (SASO) at the Western Air Command. Karnik, in his latest appointment, would be in-charge of flight safety of the entire air force fleet.

Mumbai, March 31 – The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Wednesday came in for praise from the prosecution in the Mumbai terror attacks trial for its ‘contribution and cooperation’ to the case. In a warm gesture, Special Public Prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam acknowledged and appreciated the FBI’s help which enabled the prosecution wrap up case against Pakistani terror accused Mohammed Ajmal Amir Kasab and his Indian co-accused, Fahim Ansari and Sabahuddin Ahmed. ‘The FBI agents and their experts came to the special court and gave evidence, by which we were able to prove that Kasab and his nine associates had come from Pakistan,’ Nikam said.

New York, Mar 31 : ‘Mean Girls’ star Lindsay Lohan has got into a Twitter war with comedian George Lopez after he made fun of the bizarre white powder that was recently spotted coming out of her shoes. Lohan, 23, was photographed on March 27 leaving a friend’s home in Los Angeles with mysterious clouds of dust billowing from her designer shoes. New York, march 31 : Steven Spielberg is quite finicky about his security – the filmmaker keeps a brand new motorcycle parked at his office to make a getaway if a situation arises, a new book about DreamWorks has claimed. London, March 31 : Kiefer Sutherland has said that he has no plans to return to films now that his hit show ’24′ is coming to an end. Sutherland, who portrays anti-terror agent Jack Bauer in the hit thriller, revealed, is keeping his fingers crossed to land another role in TV series, as films no longer inspire him. “I grew up on films such as ‘One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest’, ‘Urban Cowboy’, ‘Terms Of Endearment ‘and ‘Ordinary People’, but they don’t make those movies anymore.

Bangalore, March 31 – Information technology and consulting multinational IBM Wednesday unveiled a global entrepreneur initiative to provide start-up companies industry-specific cloud-computing technologies. ‘The initiative will provide start-ups free access to cloud-computing technology to capture emerging business opportunities in fast-growing industries such as energy and utilities, health care, telecom and government,’ IBM Venture Capital group managing director Claudin Fan Munce told reporters here.
