Two killed, one hurt in two road accidents

New Delhi, Feb 28 – Two people were killed and another was critically injured in two separate road accidents in west Delhi, police said Monday. Vijay Pal, 35, was crushed to death by a speeding truck in Dwarka in west Delhi Sunday night.

Yemen’s opposition rejects call for national unity government

Sana’a, Feb 28 – Yemen’s main opposition party Monday rejected an invitation from President Ali Abdullah Saleh to join a national unity government. Saleh made the call during a meeting with prominent preachers and religious leaders, the official Saba news agency reported.

PM’s two-day Jammu visit from Thursday

Dubai customs bust credit card racket

Dubai, Feb 28 (IANS/WAM) Dubai customs have arrested two people who were travelling with 51 counterfeit creadit cards worth AED 1 million ($270,000). The counterfeit cards were recovered Sunday from an Asian passenger who intended to smuggle them for use in the UAE market, Ali Almaghwai, Senior Manager of Airport Passenger Operation Department, said.

New Delhi, Feb 28 – Fast bowler Kemar Roach took a stunning hat-trick and finished with a six-wicket haul as the West Indies crushed the Netherlands by 215 runs in a World Cup Group B contest at the Ferozeshah Kotla stadium here Monday. Libya unrest: 68 Indians land in Mumbai, 3,000 more on the way (Intro Night Lead)

Mumbai/New Delhi, Feb 28 – With India intensifying Operation Safe Homecoming, around 3,000 Indians are expected to be evacuated by two chartered ships in the next few days as a third batch of 68 landed in Mumbai from strife-torn Libya in a Gulf Air flight Monday and around 600 were coming on two special Air India flights early Tuesday. ‘All 68 Indian nationals who had crossed over to Salloum (Egypt) reached Mumbai by GF-056 this morning (Monday),’ the external affairs ministry said in New Delhi.
