China issues white paper on national defence

Beijing, March 31 – China Thursday issued a white paper on national defence, aiming to enhance its military transparency and boost the world’s trust in its commitment to peaceful development. The document, the seventh of its kind the Chinese government has issued since 1998, says China will never seek hegemony, nor will it adopt the approach of military expansion now or in the future, Xinhua reported.

Gaga to debut as a columnist

London, March 31 – Pop star Lady Gaga is set to make her debut as a fashion and art columnist for V Magazine. Femalefirst.co.uk reports that the 25-year-old singer, who is known for bizarre clothes, will begin writing for the fashion magazine from May and also announced that she is set to bring her video blog back.

American Airlines to suspend two daily flights to Japan

New York, Mar.31 : American Airlines has said it will suspend two of its six daily flights to Japan from April 7 to 25, due to a drop in the number of passengers traveling to that country following the massive March 11 earthquake and tsunami. American Airlines will suspend the service between New York and Tokyo’s Haneda Airport and one of the two daily flights between Dallas-Fort Worth in Texas and Narita Airport near Tokyo.
