UAE’s first satellite launch postponed

Abu Dhabi, March 31 (IANS/WAM) The UAE’s first satellite launch was postponed Thursday due to technical reasons. The launch of Yahsat 1A, Abu Dhabi’s first of two high-powered satellites, was scheduled from French Guiana Thursday morning, but had to be postponed, said Mohammed Al-Za’abi, the CEO of the Al Yah Satellite Communications Co.

British schools ban Bible distribution

London, March 31 – Many schools in Britain have banned the distribution of the Bible to avoid upsetting other faiths, a media report said. The Gideons International, an organisation dedicated to distribution of the Bible, gives out free copies printed in 94 languages.

Microsoft files anti-trust complaint against Google

Brussels, March 31 – The European Union’s executive, the European Commission, confirmed Thursday that Microsoft has filed a formal anti-trust complaint against Google’s dominance in the internet search engine market. ‘The commission takes note of the complaint and, as is the procedure, will inform Google and will ask for its views on it,’ Amelia Torres, spokeswoman for EU competition commissioner Joaquin Almunia, said in a statement.
