Two US nationals charged with helping Taliban

New York, April 30: Two American nationals have been extradited from Romania to the US on charges of providing the Taliban with high-tech weapons to protect their heroin labs from the US military, a media report said. Alwar ‘Allan’ Pouryan and Oded ‘Dedy’ Orbach were arrested in Bucharest in February in a sting operation, the New York Post reported.

Hot day in Delhi, mercury set to soar

New Delhi, April 30: It was a hot and humid day in Delhi Saturday as the mercury soared to 40.8 degrees Celsius, three notches above average, and the Met office forecast the temperature is ‘likely to rise in the days to come’. The day began on a scorching note as it was the hottest morning of April in the city, with the minimum temperature at 27.9 degrees Celsius also turning out to be four notches above what is an average for this time of the season.

24 million hits on Kerala exam results website

Thiruvananthapuram, April 30: A Kerala government website with the results of Class 10 state board exams got 2.4 crore (24 million) hits from 90 countries Thursday when the lists of successful candidates were put up, an official said Saturday. The website is managed by state owned IT@School and its chief Anvar Sadath said that in the first hour of the results being published by State Education Minister M.A.Baby, more than 75 lakh (750,000) hits were recorded.
