Sushma Swaraj slams Congress leaders for criticizing draft PAC report

Mangalore, Apr 30: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Sushma Swaraj on Saturday slammed Congress leaders, including Navin Jindal and Saifuddin Soz, for criticizing the draft report of the parliament’s Public Accounts Committee (PAC) that probed the multi-billion dollar 2G scam. Addressing mediapersons in Mangalore, Swaraj said the CAG (Comptroller and Auditor General) report is an example that shows that the Central government is trying to influence every thing that is working independently.

Government trashes allegations by Purulia arms drop accused

New Delhi, April 30: The government Saturday trashed as ‘mischievous’ Purulia arms drop accused Kim Davy’s allegations that Indian politicians and state agencies were involved in the 1995 conspiracy. Woman harassed by panchayat kills herself

Pali (Rajasthan), April 30: Depressed over harassment by a local panchayat (council), a 21-year-old woman committed suicide by immolating herself in a Rajasthan village, police said Saturday. According to a police official, the council members were reportedly harassing Vimla Ghansi after she separated from her husband without seeking prior permission from leaders of her caste.

New Delhi, April 30: World No.1 Lee Chong Wei registered a convincing 21-11, 21-15 win over Yun Hu of Hong Kong to set up a title clash with veteran Peter Gade of Denmark in the men’s singles of the inaugural India Open Super series badminton at the Siri Fort Sports Complex here Saturday.
