Jihadis, not India potent threat to Pakistan

Islamabad, May 29: An editorial in a Pakistan daily has said jihadi warfare, rather than India is the potent threat to Pakistan.

It says the jihadi enterprise has to shut down to ensure Pakistan’s peaceful survival.

The editorial says Pakistan should give priority in eliminating grave economic crises instead of stockpiling nuclear weapons, as these weapons cannot counter the nature of threat confronting the country.

“What will nuclear weapons do against the asymmetrical warfare of the once-pampered jihadis who have turned on us?” it says.

According to the Daily Times, editorial says that possessing nuclear weapons does not halt a continuous race to acquire more nuclear arms, as they are a symbol of power for a country,

It says nuclear weapons are rendered unusable, as the world would not tolerate them, after Hiroshima bombings demonstrated their capability as mass massacre weapons. (ANI)
