Mancini warns Man City not to relax before securing Champions League spot

London, May 2: Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini has ordered his players not to relax as they go within touching distance of a Champions League spot.

Manchester City moved seven points clear of rivals Tottenham and Liverpool thanks to a rare strike by Nigel de Jong and Pablo Zabaleta.

But they sat back and allowed Demba Ba to score and set up an anxious second half for their fans, according to The Sun.

Mancini said: “All season we have been between first and fourth, so we deserve to be in the Champions League. But we have another four games. We can relax after May 22 but before then – no.”

“We started very well, scored two goals and thought it was finished. A game is never finished until the referee blows the whistle. We’re not under pressure because we know we have a big chance,” he added. (ANI)
