Real Madrid wants to sign Adebayor for six million pounds

London, May 20: Real Madrid is trying to sign Manchester City striker Emmanuel Adebayor for a cut-price of six million pounds.

The Spanish giants had agreed to buy him for 13.5 million pounds when a six-month loan was agreed in January but now Real is negotiating hard.

Earlier, Real Madrid was not ready to continue with on loan Adebayor as parent club Manchester City’s asking price is too high for the striker.

Adebayor, 27, had scored four goals, two of them against Tottenham in the Champions League, in his short stint at the Bernabeu.

Adebayor was delighted to land the first major trophy of his career last week, when Real beat rivals Barcelona 1-0 in the Copa del Rey final.

But City’s asking price of 12 million pounds for a player who cost them 25 million pounds from Arsenal in 2009, plus the player’s wage demands, has put Real Madrid off – especially as their striking situation has changed. (ANI)
