Tornado kills 89 in US city

Chicago, May 23: At least 89 people were killed when a tornado tore through the city of Joplin in the American state of Missouri, Xinhua reported Monday.

City official Mark Rohr has confirmed the toll. Several US states were hit by tornadoes Sunday.
