Washington, May 26: American investigative journalist Bob Woodward’s 500-square-foot “Deep Throat” apartment in Washington which he lived in during the Watergate scandal is up for sale for 200,000 dollars.
“I would love for someone who’s come to Washington early in their career to buy it and fix it up,” Politico quoted current owner Chris Blandamer, as saying.
“If you’re interested in politics or journalism, what better apartment?” he added.
It was here where Woodward put a flowerpot on his balcony to signify his meetings with “Deep Throat”, the informant (later revealed as FBI associate director Mark Felt) whose intel directly led to the Watergate scandal.
Woodward has worked for The Washington Post since 1971 as a reporter, and is currently an associate editor of the newspaper.
While a young reporter for The Washington Post in 1972, Woodward teamed up with Carl Bernstein and did much of the original news reporting on the Watergate scandal.
The scandal led to numerous government investigations and the eventual resignation of President Richard Nixon. (ANI)
