Chidambaram’s chopper makes forced landing in Srinagar

Srinagar, June 22: Union Home Minister P Chidambaram’s chopper made a forced landing at the Srinagar airport, just 20 minutes after it took off from Pahalgam on Wednesday.

Chidambaram, who arrived on a three-day visit to the Kashmir Valley on Monday, was undertaking an aerial survey of Gurez, when his chopper was forced to make the landing.

A technical snag is suspected with exact details yet to be ascertained. The chopper was manned by a senior Indian Air Force pilot.

Chidambaram’s arrival back to Delhi will be delayed as a result. (ANI)
