Kate follows mum-in-law Diana’s style for Britain’s Armed Forces Day

London, June 26: Seems like the Duchess of Cambridge has taken her mother-in-law the late Princess Diana as her role model to adapt into Royal fashion.

Kate took a leaf out of Diana’s fashion book by wearing a military-style outfit to mark Britain’s Armed Forces Day.

Her uniform, complete with brass buttons, epaulettes and a beret-style hat, was set off with a gold shamrock as she and Prince William handed out service medals to members of the Irish Guards.

Regimental brass had loaned Kate the brooch, previously worn by the Queen Mum and Princess Anne.

“William’s mother was keen on dressing in military style for regimental visits and it seems Kate is following her lead,” the Daily Star quoted a palace aide as saying.

Her navy outfit was a perfect match for William’s official frock coat as colonel of the regiment as the royal couple met guardsmen just back from a six-month tour of duty in Afghanistan at Windsor’s Victoria Barracks.

Before the parade, the couple met privately with the families of three fallen servicemen, presenting them with Elizabeth Cross medals. (ANI)
