London, June 10: To celebrate Lily Allen’s wedding, florists have created a ten feet portrait of the singer by using 1800 asiatic lilies which represent romance, femininity and purity.
The team of six flower experts spent nine hours arranging the blooms in an Andy Warhol style design, which is a collaboration by florist McQueens and The Flower Council of Holland.
“This delicate pop art inspired ‘lily portrait’ was created to celebrate her life and her future happiness with her new husband,” the Daily Mail quoted Hannah Martin, wedding and events manager for McQueens as saying.
“The unique symbolism of these beautiful flowers – love, purity and femininity – made lilies an obvious choice for such an inspiring and iconic woman.
“In fact they are so perfect for her that we wouldn’t be surprised if Lily chooses lilies as part of her bridal bouquet,” she added.
The singer is to tie the knot with builder Sam Cooper at a church in Cranham, Gloucester on June 11.
The church is expected to host guests such as Glastonbury boss Michael Eavis, and actress Jaime Winstone.
Allen would be wearing a bespoke wedding dress by Chanel’s Karl Lagerfeld and shoes by Rupert Sanderson. (ANI)
