Paul McCartney hints at Gorillaz collaboration

London, June 15: Sir Paul McCartney has revealed that he might team up with Gorillaz as he is a big admirer of Damon Albarn and his co-star, artist Jamie Hewlett.

“We have kind of talked – nothing serious but I like what they do. It’s got near a couple of times but we never had the time,” the Sun quoted McCartney as saying.

McCartney was also a huge fan of the work Albarn did on his opera ‘Monkey: Journey To The West’.

Sources in both camps are convinced that it is only a matter of time before they get together in the studio.

The collaboration conversation was rumbling ever since Albarn had presented the Beatles star with a Q Magazine Icon award a few years ago, and where he himself won an Inspiration gong at the event.

“Damon originally brought up the idea of doing something with Gorillaz at the Q Awards and they have been trying to sort something since. It never worked out on the last album, Plastic Beach, but things are looking good for something together in the future,” a source said. (ANI)
