London, June 3: Potential GOP presidential candidate Sarah Palin recently met her professional lookalike Cecilia Thompson in Boston on her One Nation bus tour.
Palin, who managed to arrive in Boston at the same time as her Republican rival Mitt Romney, hugged her mirror image and even offered Thompson to be her press spokesman.
“Now you go talk to all these reporters. And you speak for me,” the Daily Mail quoted Palin as telling Thompson while her bemused father Chuck Heath looked on.
Thompson, a professional Palin impersonator from New England, was waiting for the former Alaskan governor in the pews when she arrived to visit Old North Church on her One Nation bus tour.
Dressed in Palin’s signature red jacket and huge flag lapel pin, she made the Tea Party darling look distinctly casual as the two embraced outside the church.
It’s not the first time the pair has met. They encountered one another for the first time in 2009, at a book signing in Colorado.
She started working as a lookalike in 2008, when Palin was revealed as John McCain’s presidential running mate.
Thompson, who advertises her services for fundraisers, church parties and cruises, describes herself as having “an uncanny natural resemblance to Sarah Palin.”
She has taken dialect classes to sound like Palin, theatre classes to act like her and even comedy classes to ‘keep things light, funny, and enjoyable’. (ANI)
