New Delhi, June 7: Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Sushma Swaraj reacting to Congress General Secretary Digvijay Singh’s remarks for calling her a dancer, n Tuesday asked whether UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi was aware of the words used by her party men, and added that they will continue to sing and dance to patriotic songs.
“It is a crime to sing and dance to patriotic songs? How can the Congress call us a ‘party of dancer?” asked Swaraj.
Commenting on Sushma Swaraj, Digvijay Singh earlier this evening said: “She was dancing. When did the BJP become a party of dancers? The party should be ashamed… they should apologise to the nation for dancing at Gandhi’s Samadhi.”
Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Sushma Swaraj, broke into an impromptu dance with her party workers during the 24-hour-long ‘satyagraha’ at Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi’s memorial Rajghat on Sunday in protest against the crackdown on yoga guru Baba Ramdev and thousands of his supporters at Delhi’s Ramlila ground.
