Tibetan PM-in-exile to visit Ladakh

Dharamsala, June 21: Tibetan Kalon Tripa or prime minister-in-exile Samdhong Rinpoche will visit Ladakh in Jammu and Kashmir this week to attend religious functions and meet local people, an aide said here Tuesday.

He will also visit Sonamling Tibetan settlement in Leh June 24, an official spokesperson for the Central Tibetan Administration told IANS.

Rinpoche’s visit will conclude June 29 with a visit to the Tibetan Children’s Village School and Central Institute for Buddhist Studies in Leh, the Buddhist-dominated area located close to the China border.

Rinpoche is completing his second term in August.

Lobsang Sangay has been chosen the next Kalon Tripa in the third direct elections March 20.
