Lampard mocked for picking up ‘gay version’ of Bleakley’s accent

London, July 18: English footballer Frank Lampard has been mocked for picking up a “gay version” of fiancee Christine Bleakley’s accent.

Essex-born Lampard, 33, who took Daybreak host Bleakley, 32, to London’s Mandarin Oriental hotel at the weekend, started imitating her Ulster lilt for a joke.

But the joke backfired and his pals have joked it made him sound like a camp version of Corrie’s wife-beating Ulsterman Jim McDonald.

“His pals have started to say it makes him sound like a gay version of Big Jim off Corrie,” the Daily Star quoted a friend of Bleakley’s as saying.

“It doesn’t make him sound hard at all. But he knows it’s all just a joke,” the friend added. (ANI)
