Pakistan Railways using money from ticket sales to pay workers’ salaries

Islamabad, July 19(ANI): Pakistan Railways workers have been praying for increase in ticket sales in recent months, as instead of receiving their salaries from the bank, they are being paid from the funds received from ticket sales.

According to The News, Pakistan Railways has no funds to pay the salaries of its employees, which led to this unusual method being adopted.

The money obtained from ticket sales is also not being deposited into banks, but is being kept for payments.

Earlier, during a press conference on Monday, Railways Minister Ghulam Ahmad Bilour had admitted that the government had not released the allocated funds.

He had also said that the time was near when Pakistan Railways would have to be shut down. (ANI)
