Powerful quake hits Alaska

New York, July 17: A 6.1-magnitude quake struck the Alaska Peninsula Saturday, Xinhua reported.

The quake occurred at 19:59:14 GMT Saturday. The epicentre was located 70 km southwest of Sand Point, Alaska, the US Geological Survey said.
