Mumbai, Aug 1(ANI): Panama-flagged cargo vessel M.V. Pavit, which ran aground near Juhu beach in Mumbai on Sunday, is still stranded despite all the efforts to tug the ship.
More efforts will be made on Tuesday to tug the stranded ship to the sea.
“Many efforts were made and even an another boat tried to rescue the ship, but the ship has run aground and the rescue ship will take time to pull the ship out. Even if a boat comes to tug the stuck ship then it will also get stuck,” said Vinod, a lifeguard.
According to reports, the ship, which is oil tanker, is laden with 10 tonnes of fuel oil and another 10 tonnes of gas oil.
An emergency towing vessel, which was hired following the M.V. Wisdom episode for the entire monsoon season, will be used to salvage the stuck vessel.
The Coast Guard and the Mumbai police have deployed personnel in the vicinity to prevent people from venturing too close to the grounded ship. (ANI)
