New York, Aug 31(ANI): Indian tennis star Somdev Devvarman will be hoping to stage a first-round US Open upset against Andy Murray today.
Devvarman, ranked 64th in the world, will take on Murray in the second match on Arthur Ashe Stadium, which can seat over 22,500 people.
The 26-year-old is playing Murray for the first time and knows he has his work cut out if he is to avoid defeat.
“I’ve never played on one of the main courts in any of the slams so it’s going to be a great experience for sure,” the Telegraph quoted Devvarman, as saying.
“He’s obviously playing very well right now, he just won Cincinnati, so it’s going to be a very tough match for me to win, but it’s tennis and anything can happen. I’m going to go out and give it my best, try to have some fun and win the match,” he added. (ANI)
