Washington, Aug 19: Embattled Libyan leader Colonel Muammar Gaddafi is reportedly preparing to flee the nation over the next few days.
US officials told NBC that intelligence reports have suggested that Gaddafi is considering moving with his family possibly to Tunisia.
The reports come a day after Pentagon officials described Libyan rebel gains as ‘significant developments’ in the civil war that has engulfed the country, Fox News reports.
Pentagon Spokesman George Little recently said “the future doesn’t look particularly bright for Gaddafi, but we’ll have to see where things go.”
He attributed the outlook to the rebel effort combined with sustained pressure from NATO operations and the economic and diplomatic sanctions, the report said. (ANI)
