MTV to honour Britney Spears this month

London, Aug 17: Pop singer Britney Spears will be honoured at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards ceremony.

Singers Madonna, Lady Gaga and Katy Perry are set to pay tribute to the 29-year-old singer at the award ceremony in Los Angeles this month.

A source said that Spears is the only singer after Michael Jackson to be honoured like this.

“The last person who was honoured like this was Michael Jackson, and that was when he had just died,” the Mirror quoted a source as saying.

“Still, it’s great to see there is enthusiasm over Britney,” she added. (ANI)
