Islamabad, August 15: Former Pakistan captain Shoaib Malik and spinner Danish Kaneria will appear before Pakistan Cricket Board’s Integrity Committee today, to decide whether the two cricketers are eligible for national selection or not.
Malik has confirmed that he will appear before the committee today, however the board is still awaiting a response from Kaneria.
“Malik has submitted some replies and documents regarding questions over a heavy amount found in his accounts. But it is too premature to say whether he would be cleared by the integrity committee or not,” The Daily Times quoted a source, as saying.
Malik is expected to make an explanation to the PCB committee about 95,000 pounds, which were found in one of his bank accounts.
Kaneria was directed the Sindh High Court to submit documents before the PCB to prove his claim that the Essex police have given him a clean chit on a spot-fixing charge in England last year.
“The court had told him to submit documents to the board but so far we have got nothing fresh from him. Perhaps, he will come with the documents himself,” the source said. (ANI)
