Tony Bennett to pay tribute to Amy Winehouse at MTV Video Music Awards

Washington, Aug 24: Legendary singer Tony Bennett is reportedly returning to the MTV Video Music Awards stage this Sunday in Los Angeles for the first time since 1993 to pay tribute to the late Amy Winehouse.

The 85-year-old American singer grew fond of the late ‘Rehab’ singer while working with her on the track ‘Body and Soul’ for his upcoming Duets II album.

“It was a thrill to record with Amy Winehouse… She was one of the most honest musicians I have ever known,” Contactmusic quoted him as saying.

Bennett will introduce a video footage from the pair’s recording session this March in London.

The ‘I left My Heart in San Francisco’ singer also plans to donate all proceeds from the track to the Amy Winehouse Foundation.

Meanwhile, Winehouse’s father Mitch has expressed his excitement over the idea of Bennett paying tribute to his daughter.

“The family is honoured that the VMAs are giving Amy this wonderful tribute,” he said. (ANI)
