Gibson to produce Jewish warrior epic

London, Sep 10(IANS) Actor Mel Gibson is set to produce a biblical drama about Jewish hero Judah Maccabee.

The 55-year-old is collaborating with screenwriter Joe Eszterhas to tell the story of the Jewish warrior, who defeated the Greek-Syrian armies in the second century and inspired the Hanukkah celebration, reports express.co.uk.

According to reports, the ‘Braveheart’ star has the option to direct the project as well.
