Washington, Oct 21: Republican Senator John McCain (Arizona) has termed the death of Libyan leader Colonel Muammar Gaddafi as a “victory” for US President Barack Obama.
“This is a victory for the president, the Obama administration but most importantly” for the Libyan people, the Politico quoted McCain, as saying.
In a statement released earlier in the day, he said that Gaddafi’s death “marks an end to the first phase of the Libyan revolution”.
Senator Mark Kirk was another Republican senator who said that it is a ‘great win’ for he Obama administration.
“This is a great win for the U.S. military, NATO, the Obama administration, and most importantly, for the people of Libya,” Kirk added. (ANI)
