London, Oct 2(ANI): Formula One supremo Bernie Ecclestone and Red Bull Racing team principal Christian Horner believe that Australian driver Mark Webber is being underestimated due to reigning champion Sebastian Vettel’s domination.
“That Sebastian is better than Mark we know by now. But who is there who is better than Mark?” news.com.au quoted Ecclestone, as saying.
“I think it is not right to belittle Mark. In context, driving with Sebastian, he hasn’t got the easiest of jobs, because in my view Sebastian is the best driver on the grid right now,” he added.
Horner backed up Ecclestone’s comments, saying that Webber isn’t receiving the credit he deserves.
“It seems all too convenient to underestimate Mark when comparing him against Seb. But that is definitely a huge mistake,” Horner said.
“Mark is undervalued right now. He’s still motivated enough to beat anybody except Sebastian,” he added.
Vettel currently leads the championship table with 309 points, while Webber is fourth with 182 points. (ANI)
