Ranchi, Nov 5: In the second such incident in two days, a 20-year-old engineering student committed suicide by hanging herself in her home here Saturday, police said.
Mala Singh, a resident of Sukhdeonagar here, was a B. Tech student in a private city college.
On Saturday, she had breakfast with her parents, after which her father, who works in Sahara India Life Insurance, went to office around 11 a.m.
Mala then locked herself in her room and did not answer even when her mother knocked on her door repeatedly.
Alarmed, her mother informed her father, who returned from office and barged inside the room with the help of neighbours.
Mala was found hanging from the ceiling fan. Police found a suicide note where she said she was upset with life and was committing suicide on her own will.
