Two held for duping a woman of Rs.1 crore

New Delhi, Dec 17: Two people, including an employee of a finance company, were arrested in Jharkhand for duping a woman of more than Rs.1 crore in a property deal, police said Saturday.

Tony Thomas, a resident of Gurgaon, was arrested from Jamshedpur in Jharkhand Dec 12 and co-accused Mukul Bhimani, a resident of Vikaspuri in west Delhi and an employee of a consumer finance firm, was also arrested from that state subsequently.

The two cheated Nirmala Modi, a resident of Siri Fort Road, of more than Rs.1 crore on the pretext of selling to her a property owned by Thomas in Gurgaon.

Thomas, with the help of Bhimani, presented her a forged no objection certificate from the bank from which he had taken a loan for the property.

Modi July 13 lodged a complaint against Thomas and some officials of City Financial India Ltd. with the Vasant Kunj police.
