Islamabad, Dec 30(ANI): Senior Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) officials have told the Pakistan Senate’s defence committee that they will continue seeking guidance of the parliament, and vowed to never compromise on national security.
ISI Director General Ahmad Shuja Pasha briefed the committee about the role of the agency regarding the war against terrorism, which according to them, was crucial in restoring peace in the region.
Sources told the Nation that the ISI briefed the committee members about the tribal areas, Afghan War, war on terror policy and the challenges faced by country for the protection of national security.
The ISI reportedly highlighted its role in combating terrorism and dispelled speculation of the agency’s intervention in the country’s political affairs.
The ISI also confirmed that talks with the Taliban had reached a final stage and added they were expected to achieve a breakthrough over the next few months. (ANI)
