Lashkar-i-Jhangvi denies involvement in Afghan blast

Islamabad, Dec 9: Militant group Lashkar-i-Jhangvi al-Alami (LJA) has denied any kind of involvement in the Kabul suicide attack, and in stead condemned the carnage.

At least 55 people were killed and scores injured in the attack outside a shrine in Kabul. Another four people died in a bomb blast in the Afghan city of Mazar-i-Sharif the same day.

A person, who claimed to be a representative of the LJA, told The Dawn by phone that enemies of Pakistan and Afghanistan were behind the bloodshed.

A man claiming to be a spokesman for the LJA and identifying himself as Abu Bakar Mansoor had called some media outlets hours after the bombings to inform that the Kabul attack had been carried out by his group. (ANI)
