Nicolas Sarkozy calls David Cameron ‘obstinate kid’

London, Dec 15: Nicolas Sarkozy has said that David Cameron acted like an ‘obstinate kid’ at the summit in Brussels last week.

The two had clashed after UK vetoed changes to the European Union treaty.

In an astonishing rant, Sarkozy also claimed he outmaneuvered the British Prime Minister at the summit.

“It’s the first time we have said ‘no’ to the English,” the Daily Express quoted Sarkozy as telling French magazine Le Canard Enchaine.

“Cameron behaved like an obstinate kid with a single obsession: protecting the City, which wants to carry on behaving like an off-shore center.”

“No country supported him. That is the mark of a political defeat,” he said.

“It was a good coup. I maneuvered well,” he added.

British officials insist that the discussions were ‘polite and friendly’, despite the disagreement between Cameron and the French President.

However, Sarkozy was seen refusing to shake Cameron’s hand after UK’s veto. (ANI)
