Union Cabinet clears Food Security Bill

New Delhi, Dec 18: The Union Cabinet on Sunday cleared the Food Security Bill.

The bill will now be tabled in the Parliament on Monday.

The Cabinet decision on Food Security Bill was postponed earlier on as the allies of the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) Government at the Centre wanted more discussions on it.

The draft of the National Food Security Bill seeks to expand the scope of subsidised food entitlements to the poor. (ANI)
