Conspiracy behind Ramdev attack, says Digvijay

New Delhi, Jan 14: Condemning the attack Saturday on yoga guru Baba Ramdev, Congress leader Digvijay Singh said it seemed to be a conspiracy to create tension between Hindus and Muslims.

“It should be probed who this person is. I always say fanatic Hindus and fanatic Muslims together do such things,” the Congress general secretary said.

A man, identified as Kamran Siddiqui, threw black ink at Baba Ramdev while he was addressing journalists at the Constitution Club here Saturday. Ramdev’s irate supporters assaulted the man.

Siddiqui was reportedly irked after Ramdev defended the Batla House shoot-out as being true.

Digvijay Singh, who contends that it was staged, said it seemed like a conspiracy by Hindu and Muslim fanatics.

“I think there is some such conspiracy in this so that there is sympathy for Baba Ramdev and tension between Hindus and Muslims,” he said.

“We condemn any such action. It should not have happened.”
