Lucknow, Jan.28: The 500-kilometer-long Indo-Nepal border that runs along eight districts of Uttar Pradesh will be sealed two days before the state goes to polls to prevent movement of anti-social elements.
There are intelligence reports that anti-social elements could enter the state to disrupt polling.
Borders in the districts of Pilibhit, Lakhimpur Kheri, Bahraich, Shravasti, Balrampur, Sidharth Nagar, Maharajganj and Kushinagar will be under strict vigil, a television channel quoted Maharajganj District Magistrate Pranjal Yadav, as saying.
Yadav also said that computerised cameras would be installed at trade and transit points along the Indo-Nepal border. (ANI)
