London, Jan 13(ANI): Tottenham Spurs midfielder Rafael Van der Vaart has claimed that Manchester City player’s has lost its consistency and believes that this might be the right time to take advantage of the club.
“City is not so consistent any more. They have lost a few games and maybe that’s in their heads, so we can take advantage,” The Sun quoted Van der Vaart, as saying.
Spurs won their last game against Everton on Wednesday 2-0 to level Manchester United with 45 points and are only three points behind league leaders Manchester City.
If the Spurs beat Wolverhampton Wanderers at White Hart Lane tomorrow, then they will level with Manchester City at the top of the table.
City humbled Spurs 5-1 at White Hart Lane back in August, but Van der Vaart feels that they have improved since then.
“We are much better now and I am really looking forward to our game,” he added.
He also believes that if the Spurs continue their good form, then they can be true contenders for the title this season.
“If we keep playing like this we will be one of the favorites for the title,” he added.
He went on to claim that Spurs were a more cohesive unit than City which depended on individuals for success.
“City has individual players who can score goals and decide a game. But we are more like a team I think,” he added. (ANI)
