Bangladesh to import sugar

Dhaka, Feb 27: Bangladesh will import 25,000 metric tonnes of sugar, a media report said Sunday.

The cabinet committee on government purchase has endorsed a proposal to import, the reported.

“Globo Piu Import-Export Company got the tender for importing 25,000 metric tonnes of sugar,” the report quoted Nurul Karim, cabinet division additional secretary, as saying. The import will cost about 1.62 billion takas, he said.
