Christina Aguilera says ‘it’s time’ to meet estranged father

London, Feb 10: Christina Aguilera has revealed that she would like to patch things up with her estranged father, Fausto, who she last saw in 1999.

The ‘Genie In A Bottle’ hitmaker, who had alleged that she was physically and emotionally abused by her father, has suggested that they might be able to rebuild their relationship.

“I’ve talked about how rough things were for me and I’m sure he’s heard it. He can’t be thrilled about it. So maybe one day we can do lunch … I’m 31 years old now. Maybe it’s time,” the Daily Mail quoted her as telling Latina magazine.

In 2009, in an interview with E! Aguilera had said she witnessed a lot of ‘unpleasant things’ while growing up.

“Growing up I did not feel safe. Feeling powerless is the worst feeling in the world. I turned to singing as an outlet. The pain at home is where my love for music came from,” she had said.

However, her father has denied allegations he abused Christina and her sister Rachel. (ANI)
