Delhi policemen suspended

New Delhi, Feb 16: A Delhi Police team of eight men has been suspended for raiding Jamia Nagar here in search of illegal immigrants from Bangladesh, police said Thursday.

Police sources said the raid by a special team was conducted without informing the local police station.

Things went out of control when the policemen in plainclothes were attacked by locals who couldn’t recognise them.

When the news spread, additional forces from the Jamia Nagar police station rushed to the spot. Police caught some suspected immigrants but later released them.
