London, Feb 17(ANI): Manchester United suffered yet another injury setback when star performer Antonio Valencia was ruled out of for a month due to a hamstring injury.
Valencia had only been on the pitch for 10 minutes during United’s 2-0 Europa League win over Ajax in Amsterdam, when he was injured during the build-up to United’s second goal.
United manager Sir Alex Ferguson confirmed the news.
“Valencia has got a hamstring injury, which is unfortunate. Hamstrings are hamstrings. It could be four weeks. It’s a big blow for us,” The Mirror Football quoted Ferguson, as saying.
The loss of Valencia, who has been one of United’s best players in recent weeks, is a big blow to them in terms of their chase of Manchester City in the title race.
But the return of wingers Ashley Young and Luis Nani along with long time absentee Tom Cleverley is certainly going to bring some much needed respite to the Red Devils. (ANI)
