Sydney, Feb 16(ANI): Australian all rounder Shane Watson has asked captain Michael Clarke and coach Mickey Arthur to balance his workout so that he doesn’t suffers injuries in the future.
Watson suffered from calf and hamstring injuries during the Test series against South Africa, which led to his absence from the Australian cricket summer.atson has spent most of his injury layoff assessing the conditions that contributed to his injuries.
After this assessment, he concluded that he needs a better balance between his batting and bowling, The Sydney Morning Herald reports.
Watson became an authentic strike weapon with the ball for Michael Clarke in Sri Lanka and South Africa but was used sparing under Ricky Ponting.
Now, he has urged Clarke and Arthur to balance his workload.
“I’m going to have to continue to talk to Michael and Mickey Arthur and just try and balance my workload as much as I possibly can because what happened over the last little while didn’t exactly work, so I’m just going to have to stay on top of things a little bit more, I think,” said Watson.
Watson said he doesn’t wants to repeat the mistakes he made last time.
“A few mistakes that I did make throughout that period of time [I] certainly won’t be making them again because I wouldn’t really like to be out for another three months again because it’s very frustrating,” he said. (ANI)
