Islamabad, March 13: At least eight people were killed Tuesday in a drone strike in Pakistan’s northwest tribal region, media reports said.
According to Xinhua, most local media reports said the strike took place in North Waziristan, but Urdu TV channel Dunya said it occurred in South Waziristan.
Despite the difference in the location of the strike, all reports said the target was a vehicle suspected to be carrying militants.
This was the ninth strike in Pakistan in 2012. At least 69 people have been killed in such strikes this year.
