New Delhi, April 27: A sunny morning was followed by a cloudy and pleasant day as strong gusts of wind prevented the mercury from rising above average in the capital Friday. The met office has forecast light rain and thunder storm in some areas Saturday.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), light rains were reported in some areas Friday and the city received 2.8 mm of rainfall overnight till 8:30 a.m.
The maximum temperature was 34.7 degrees Celsius, four notches below average for this time of the year, while the minimum was five notches below average at 19.8 degrees.
The humidity levels wavered between a high of 83 and a low of 28 percent.
“Partly cloudy sky, light rain or thunder storm is expected in some areas Sunday. The maximum and minimum temperatures are, respectively, expected to hover around 36 and 21 degrees Celsius,” an India Meteorological Department (IMD) official said.
Thursday’s maximum temperature was four notches below average at 34.6 degree Celsius, while the minimum temperature settled two notches below average at 22.6 degrees Celsius.
