20 Afghan militants killed

Kabul, May 28: Over 20 Taliban militants were killed in Afghanistan during military operations, the interior ministry said Monday.

The Afghan police, army and the NATO-led coalition forces launched the operation in nearly a dozen provinces, including Kabul, Kunar, Kandahar, Helmand and Uruzgan.

Ninteen other militans were arrested. The casualties occurred in the past 24 hours till Monday afternoon, Xinhua reported.
