Clinton hopes to see female US President in her lifetime

Kolkata, May 7: US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has said that she hopes to see a female American president in her lifetime, but again rejected calls for her to make another run for the White House.

Clinton during an event in Kolkata, said she really wanted to see ‘that final glass ceiling’ broken.

“I think that there will be an election that will elect a woman,” Fox News quoted Clinton, as saying.

She noted that the American political process is difficult and heavily dependent on fund raising, which makes it hard for any candidate to succeed.

As for herself, Clinton said she is done with the political high wire and looks forward to life as a private citizen.

Clinton, who landed in Kolkata on Sunday, also said that she would like to come back to India again.

“I would like to come back to India and just wander around without the streets being closed,” the report quoted her, as saying.

“I just want to get back to taking some deep breaths, feeling that there are other ways I can continue to serve,” she added. (ANI)
